In yesterday’s post, I highlighted the importance of a success plan for coaches, freelancers, small business owners, and even salespeople working inside an organization.
In today’s post, let’s examine the things you need to do before you write your success plan.
The Prerequisites for Success
Before you can develop your success plan, you need to understand what’s driving you, what inspires you.
This goes beyond just the product you offer to clients and extends into the personal and business value that you bring to the people you work with.
Write down the reasons for the path you’ve chosen to take, whether as an entrepreneur/business owner or working in a sales role.
What are your expectations or Positive Business Outcomes (PBOS), as well as the key risks or barriers you might face to your success?
What products will you offer to your customers that will help them achieve their objectives? To answer this question, you’ll need to talk with prospects in your target audience to find out what their most common pain points are.
Talk To People You Trust
It’s always a good idea to get some other opinions and feedback from people you know and trust before writing your success plan.
An ancient proverb states: “There is success through many advisers.”
So, get together with some other intelligent individuals, like yourself, and use them as a sounding board to run your ideas off of. Listen to their suggestions and sincerely consider taking on their feedback. Be open to knowing that you can only benefit by sharing your business ideas, expectations, and plans with others.
In my next post on this topic, I’ll discuss why your success plan must be “alive.”
Please share your thoughts on this post because I value your comments and feedback.
Peace & Love
