Is there a relationship between how much engagement you get on your posts and sales of your products and services?
The short answer is a resounding NO!
And this is also one of the biggest mistakes people using LinkedIn for their businesses are making.
Look, you see all these other LinkedIners who get 50, 100, or more comments on their posts and even more likes, and your belief system is that they are getting a lot of clients, right?
That's what you believe.
That belief is dead wrong.
99% of those people commenting on those posts and liking them are NEVER buying that person's products or services. Ever!
The amount of engagement a person gets on his or her posts has ZERO relevance to how much revenue that person is going to generate off of LinkedIn.
In fact, when you have your marketing dialed in, the amount of engagement you get on any of your posts is irrelevant.
That's because the people that actually want your help, who need what you sell, will have rarely if ever engaged with any of your content.
That's simply a fact.
I have people reaching out to me regularly to work with me who have never, ever liked or commented on any of my posts.
Yet, here they are.
Focus on marketing to your clearly defined market.
Do you know who your ideal customers are?
Are you 100 percent clear on the pains they're dealing with daily in their businesses?
Once you're clear on those 2 things start using your writing skills to speak directly to those individuals and their pains and challenges.
Explain how you’re going to help them eliminate those pains and challenges and they’ll start reaching out to you for your help.
And most of those people will never have engaged with any of your content.
The KEY takeaway from this is to focus on your marketing and your market and stop worrying about engagement metrics.
Because in the end, your engagement metrics do not equal sales.
Have a great day today.
